Timeschedule of the Startup Challenge 2025

The ZHAW Startup Challenge offers students the opportunity to develop and implement business ideas through coaching, workshops, and networking. Open to all ZHAW students, the program provides essential support for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The ZHAW Startup Challenge is an annual competition designed to support students of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in developing and implementing innovative business ideas. Participants benefit from personalized coaching, workshops, and the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts.

Participation Requirements

  • Target Group: All enrolled Bachelor’s and Master’s students at ZHAW are eligible to participate. Exchange students and co-founders are also welcome. Whether you have a business idea or are simply curious, everyone can join.
  • Team Composition: During the Kick-Off event, participants can present ideas, form new teams, or expand existing ones. To continue after the Kick-Off, at least one team member must be a ZHAW student.
  • Cost: Participation in the ZHAW Startup Challenge, including startup visits (safaris) and networking events with refreshments, is free of charge.

Timeline

  1. Registration: Interested participants register for the Kick-Off event, which takes place during the spring semester. For 2025, the Kick-Off is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
  2. Kick-Off Event: At the Kick-Off, participants pitch ideas, form teams, and receive detailed information about the challenge timeline and expectations.
  3. Workshops and Coaching: After the Kick-Off, three workshops and individual coaching sessions are held to refine ideas and prepare for the final pitch.
  4. Final Pitch Event: At the end of the challenge, teams present their developed ideas to a jury. The top three ideas are awarded prizes.

The ZHAW Startup Challenge is an excellent platform for students to develop entrepreneurial skills, build valuable networks, and turn innovative ideas into reality.
